Bangkok’s Iconic Indian wedding venue — Heritage, Hand-Painted Murals, and Authentic Indian Hospitality

ABOUT THIS VENUE

Why We Love Anantara for Indian Weddings

Anantara Siam Bangkok sits at the heart of the city on Rajadamri Road, opposite the Royal Bangkok Sports Club. The property has a storied history — built in 1978 as The Peninsula, operated as Regent and then Four Seasons Bangkok until 2015, when Minor Hotels rebranded it as the flagship Anantara Bangkok property. It remains one of the city’s most iconic luxury hotels and a coveted Indian wedding destination.

The signature Grand Ballroom — 814 sqm of hand-painted murals, gold-leaf columns and Thai silk drapery — hosts Indian weddings of up to 700 guests in a setting that feels grand without ever feeling generic. The intimate “Palace of the Gods” suite (up to 150 guests) features hand-painted silk-cornice ceilings depicting deities — a stunning backdrop for Mehndi, Sangeet, or close-family Phere ceremonies.

In-house chefs are experienced with full Indian, Thai, Western, Italian, Middle Eastern, and Japanese menus. The Bangkok-centre location puts every guest minutes from Ratchaprasong shopping, Erawan Shrine, BTS Ratchadamri station, and just 35 minutes from Suvarnabhumi Airport via the Expressway.

INSIDER TIPS

Planning Your Indian Wedding at Anantara Siam Bangkok

TIP 1: Book the Grand Ballroom 12+ months ahead for peak Indian wedding season — November through February sees high demand. Larger Indian wedding parties (500+ guests) should secure date first; smaller rituals follow.

TIP 2: Use the Palace of the Gods for Mehndi or intimate Sangeet — The hand-painted silk-cornice ceilings (depicting Thai deities) create a stunning, photogenic backdrop without the cost of large-ballroom decor.

TIP 3: Poolside Terrace for outdoor cocktails or Sangeet evenings — Tropical garden setting in the heart of Bangkok. Best for evening events; daytime can be warm March–May.

TIP 4: Coordinate with in-house culinary team early for Indian menus — Anantara Siam chefs are experienced with Indian, Thai, Western, Italian, Middle Eastern, and Japanese cuisines. NC handles menu development + tasting sessions.

TIP 5: Plan for 35-min airport transfer — Anantara Siam is on Rajadamri Road; Suvarnabhumi Airport is ~35 min via the Expressway. Schedule guest arrivals with buffer time during Bangkok rush hour (4–7pm).
